Here's a note from Muffin's new family...
Hi Susan...Let me write a little about the
puppy. In one word, he is AMAZING. He is so easygoing, I can hardly
believe it. He has not even barked, once. He is quiet. If we go out he
is exploring things and keeps close to me. When we are inside playing he
is just a joyous furball, running and dancing around. As soon as I put
him in the crate he chews on his toys a little, he might whimper once or
twice, but then he just goes to sleep. I take him out regularly, so he
does his things outside. And even at night he was quick. He went back to
the crate and he was fine. He does not have a shred of dominance in him.
He is very mellow, but curious, too. He is just the perfect family dog.
Thank you for letting me have him.

Barking, growling, jumping, wrestling, chewing.....everyone is doing
fine! They have started on their crate training which promotes easier house
training.
They have been on several car trips which will help those that will be going
on airplane trips to their new families.
Now at almost 7 weeks, they have had their extensive "well check" and next
week a trip to the doggie opthomologist for their eyes to be cleared of possible
disorders.
Some will stay here...some will go on plane rides...but all will be ready to
be received by their new puppy families!

This cross should produce a versatile, all around Aussie
that will be able to do it all.
This is a repeat cross that has produced good agility/performance dogs, the
litter will be black tri pups!

Our puppies are kept with their siblings until 10 weeks of
age. We find they become better, well adjusted adults when kept with their
litter mates for longer than 6 to 8 weeks. They learn valuable lessons
from each other, in this 10 week period, that will enhance their temperament,
and overall well-being as an adult.
Their success rate increases with their new families. We
try to have the puppies started walking on a leash and crate trained
(which promotes easier housetraining). Puppies have their eyes cleared with an ophthalmologist at 8 weeks. We sell on a contract with normal guarantees with first right
of refusal and we re-home our pups that are sold and need new homes for any
reason.
Australian Shepherds have over 32 possible hereditary
disorders. At 7 weeks our pups receive an extensive "wellness check". At this
age they are screened for 13 disorders which include: two different types of
hernias, Anterior Cross Bite, Brachygnathism, Prognathism, Deafness,
Microphthalmia, Persistent Pupillary Membranes (PPM), Patent Ductus Arteriosus
(PDA), Persistent Right Aortic Arch and Pulmonic Stenosis.
