August 2008....Lobo's Three Pines Classic

The Classic was held at Steve and Anne Shope's beautiful Three Pines Ranch in the high desert of New Mexico.
What a fun and exciting time...rain, floods, tornado warnings, thunder storms, more rain, shows started and stopped, and more RAIN! Everyone got wet but all had a fun time!

"Johnny"

Our Doctor J, expertly handled by our friend, Cameron Leopold, won 3 back to back RWD wins!
This was j ust days past his 6 month birthday...we can't wait till he grows up!

Cody, handled by his junior handler, Kate, won Best Veterans Sweeps and onto Best In Show for the day! Not too bad for a "good 'ol Boy" of almost 10!

Kate & Story...the saga continues...

Story and Katie had their first herding lesson with Cameron Leopold. They did so well that I had to share a picture.  Cameron Leopold is our friend that owns Dr. Johnny's half brother!

Dr. Johnny did well too! He is going to be awesome. He got bored in the small pen so we put him out in the big field with his brother Ozzie.  At first it was fun and games chasing Ozzie and then it just clicked in and away he went, the start of another little working dog!

July 2008 - ASANM

We had an exciting and surprising show weekend. Ranger went to one conformation class and had one day at home to practice what he had learned in class and went to his first show ever two days later.

To our surprise, our boy went winners dog for a 5 point major and on to BOW on Saturday. On Sunday he went winners dog for another 5 point major win! Not too bad for a beginner!

Our Dr. Johnny went BOBp on Saturday with some very nice competition.

Katie, showing her girl Story, went Reserve Winners to a 5 point major and Reserve Junior Handler. We have our last show of 2008 in mid August....we can hardly wait to see what happens!

Mother's Day...2008 Rio Grande Kennel Club

Story, handled by her junior handler, Kate went Winners Bitch for a 4 point major. Way to go Kate!

May 2008 - ASANM

Girlee started her show career the end of January, 2008. Four weekends......Four majors!
We want to thank all of the judges that made it possible for Girlee to achieve her ASCA championship.

Thank you Dorothy Montano
"5 point major - Best of Winners"

April 2008 - ZIA Australian Shepherd Club

Thank you SBJ Becky DeLeon
"5 point major, Best of Winners"

Kate, handling her junior dog, Cody, went Best Junior Handler all three shows!

 March 3rd....ASANM Conformation

Girlee's show career has had a successful start!  Two majors down and one to go!

Girlee, shown by Heather, went Winners bitch for a 3 point major at the AM show.
At the afternoon show, Girlee went Reserve.

Story, handled by Katie, went Reserve Winners to her big half-sister, Girlee.

Katie, handling Cody, went Reserve Junior Handler.

Jewel, Girlee's full baby sister, went Best of Breed puppy.

What a fun, exciting way to spend a Sunday!

February 2008...

We went to our first ASCA agility trial in almost 2 years.  Handlers, as well as dogs, were a little rusty!

Katie, with Cody, had 4 qualifying scores out of 6 runs finishing all three of her Novice Junior titles!

Ranger had 4 qualifying runs finishing his Novice Standard title!

Bella finished her Open Jumpers title…she competed in Elite Standard and had 4 clean runs but could not quite make the faster Elite time.  However, Bella did get her first Elite gamblers qualifying run!

Overall, it was a fun weekend and enlightened all of us where we need to practice to be ready for our next trial.

January 2008...

2008 started off with a 'Bang'!  We went to our first ASCA show of the year and came back with piles of ribbons.  My grand daughter, Kate, showed Cody in Open 9-12 Junior Handling.  What a 'good ol' boy'!  He knows his job so well.  Katie won 1 Reserve Junior Handler win and 3 Best Junior Handler wins over senior handlers.  Go Katie and Cody!  Katie also showed our little Dixiana girl, Paris, in the puppy class.  She took her class...a class of 2!  We wanted to get her feet 'wet' so when it comes her turn to take the spot light, she will be ready.  Hopefully this is a good sign of better things to come in 2008!

 Kate 11-1/2 and Cody 9-1/2 ... 9-12 Open Juniors

Heather showed Girlee for the first time in Open Black bitches.  The first day she went Reserve Winners bitch!

On Sunday, Girlee went Winners Bitch for a 3 point major and in the Best of Breed ring, she surprised everyone with a Best Opposite Sex win over special bitches!!!
This brought her points up to a 4 point major win!  Not too bad for the first time together in the show ring.
