March 3rd....ASANM Conformation
Girlee's show career has had a successful
start! Two majors down and one to go!

Girlee, shown by Heather, went Winners bitch for a 3 point major at the AM
show.
At the afternoon show, Girlee went Reserve.
Story, handled by Katie, went Reserve
Winners to her big half-sister, Girlee.

Katie, handling Cody, went Reserve Junior
Handler.

Jewel, Girlee's full baby sister, went
Best of Breed puppy.

What a fun, exciting way to spend a
Sunday!
February 2008...
We went to our first ASCA agility trial
in almost 2 years. Handlers, as well as dogs, were a little rusty!
Katie, with Cody, had 4 qualifying scores out of 6
runs finishing all three of her Novice Junior titles!
Ranger had 4 qualifying runs finishing
his Novice Standard title!
Bella finished her Open Jumpers title…she
competed in Elite Standard and had 4 clean runs but could not quite make the
faster Elite time. However, Bella did get her first Elite gamblers qualifying
run!
Overall, it was a fun weekend and
enlightened all of us where we need to practice to be ready for our next trial.
January 2008...
2008 started off with a 'Bang'! We went to our
first ASCA show of the year and came back with piles of ribbons. My
grand daughter, Kate, showed Cody in Open 9-12 Junior Handling. What a
'good ol' boy'! He knows his job so well. Katie won 1 Reserve Junior
Handler win and 3 Best Junior Handler wins over senior handlers. Go
Katie and Cody! Katie also showed our little Dixiana girl, Paris, in the puppy class. She took her class...a
class of 2! We wanted to get her feet 'wet' so when it comes her turn
to take the spot light, she will be ready. Hopefully this is a good
sign of better things to come in 2008!

Kate 11-1/2 and Cody 9-1/2 ... 9-12 Open Juniors

Heather showed Girlee for the first time in Open Black
bitches. The first day she went Reserve Winners bitch!

On Sunday, Girlee went Winners Bitch for a 3 point major
and in the Best of Breed
ring, she surprised everyone with a Best Opposite Sex win over special
bitches!!!
This brought her points up to a 4 point major win! Not too
bad for the first time together in the show ring.
September 16, 2007 - "Herd Testing Day"
Every Sunday morning we head to Sue Bradley's for herding lessons. This
day was special because we were going to herd test Story and Sizzle. They
have not been on stock since they were herd tested at 8 weeks on ducks. They
displayed tremendous natural herding instinct. A herding career is
definitely in their future! We also herd tested our newest member, 3 month
old, Paris. Fear - what is that! She was brave, showed a lot of brawn for a
girl so young. There was nothing that bothered her even though these animals
were 10 times her size. What a fun and exciting day!
